About Mike Whitfield (that’s me).
Now I don’t have to talk in the odd third person point of view. That would be really weird because I’m writing this myself. It would be like me “liking” my own Facebook status (which I always do anyway – it’s like giving yourself a virtual high five and it’s hilarious).
With that being said, I’m glad you’re here.
The Mission…
First, I’m not one of those “you gotta’ work 14-hour days in order to succeed” types. Feel better? Good.
The thing is… God has blessed me in a unique way. It all started in 2002…
In December of that year, I was over 300 pounds, wearing 46-inch pants and XXXL shirts. I was playing Madden, a football video game, eating chips galore and suddenly, I threw an interception. I was so upset, I threw down the controller and when I bent down to pick it up, I couldn’t see my feet. That’s when I said, “enough is enough”.
Since then, I’ve lost 115 pounds. More importantly, I have kept it off for over 15 years now (minus Christmas, Father’s Day and Pancake Day… we’ll get to Pancake Day in a minute).
This propelled me into the fitness industry, helping thousands of others claim their best health ever through my various online programs, including The Achievable Body, Workout Finishers, Go BareFit, Sets & Scripture, and Cardio Afterburn.
My work has been seen on the Men’s Health, Early to Rise and dozens of other fitness and health blogs. I also contributed to the Men’s Health Big Book of Getting Abs and wrote my own book, Rise & Hustle. I have spoken at numerous events including the Fitness Business Summit where over 1,000 trainers and coaches come from all over the world to learn strategies, innovation and inspiration to take their business to the next level.
I was voted TT Trainer of the Year in 2012.
It was in 2011 that I wanted to take my experience as a personal trainer into an online business. I released my first digital program, “Workout Finishers” and less than eight months later…
- I was able to step away from training people one-on-one for 12 to 14 hours a day, managing the gym and running bootcamps.
- My wife was able to quit her job as a middle school math teacher and become a stay-at-home Mom.
- I was online full-time
Finally, but certainly not last, I’m a man that chases after God’s heart. I fall short all the time, but I do try. I serve as an assistant Sunday School teacher and share scripture and faith-based inspiration on my Facebook page.
Oh Yeah… and I LOVE Pancakes
Yep, it’s that important. I gave that statement its own headline.
I was given the nickname, “Mikey Pancakes Whitfield” by my mentor and friend, Craig Ballantyne of Early to Rise. It’s stuck with me ever since.
My record is 13 pancakes. But typically, I have a weekly stack of 5-8 pancakes in a single sitting with mountains of syrup. Of course, there are time when I cut back and only have 2….
See?
So What Does This Have to Do With You?
I want to show you how to rise up every day with purpose.
That means a life of living God’s purpose for your life. Because it’s AWESOME and I’m having so much fun. I have to share with you how to do it.
I want to show you how to be a productive machine without being overwhelmed and overworked. I’ve been able to write a book, run a thriving online business, coach and mentor online clients, assist in teaching a growing Sunday School class at my church, write almost every day to my subscribers and be a silly Dad…
… without being stressed out.
I love it when I see that big light bulb go off above peoples’ heads. That’s when they start seeing what God has in store for them. Let me be clear…
I am NOT the CEO of my company. God is. He guides and directs me. So when he told me to shift my business into a faith-based personal growth brand such as “Rise and Hustle”, I said, “OK”. So that’s why you’re here.
Now that I have all the “Who is this guy?” stuff out of the way, I’d love to share my #1 motivator…
The pretty lady is my wife Sabrina of over 12 years. The two rascals in the back are our two sons (my best friends), Champ and Deakan. (By the way, YES Champ is his REAL name.)
Well, I’m bored of typing and I have a coaching call to get on so I’m going to abruptly stop this “About Me” page.
Abrupt ending,
Mikey “Pancakes” Whitfield
